The implementation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) might have been a nuisance for many businesses, but it was a windfall for ClearTax. The tax filing service added over 100,000 organisations to its client list after it launched a GST-assistance platform— its number of employees jumped from 60-odd to around 300 employees. ClearTax counts McDonald’s and Essilor Group, among others, as its clients. “It has been a blockbuster year for the company to build a new business vertical from scratch,” says Gupta.
