Reliance Industries tops Fortune India 500 list

Reliance Industries (RIL) has become the largest company on the Fortune India 500 list for 2019, dislodging Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) from the top spot for the first time since the list’s inception.

With FY19 revenue of ₹5.81 lakh crore, RIL is the first privately-held and the only other company to become India’s largest corporation apart from IOC. RIL’s revenue in FY19 grew 41.5%, which was 8.4% more than that of IOC. RIL’s FY19 profit was also more than double that of IOC, at ₹39,588 crore.
