Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Wednesday presented the Union Budget for FY2023-24. This is Sitharaman’s fifth Union budget. While presenting the budget, the finance minister announced seven priorities in order to accelerate growth across all sectors. She said these priorities will act as “Saptarishi” that will drive the country throughout Amrit Kaal.
These priorities are inclusive development, reaching the last mile, infrastructure and development, green growth, youth power, and the financial sector.
Speaking on green srowth, the Finance Minister said, “We are implementing many programs for green growth across various economic sectors…They will help reduce carbon intensity and create green jobs.”
The green growth priority envisages green fuel, green energy, green farming, and green mobility, which is in line with the pre-budget expectations shared by experts and industry leaders.
