Hero Electric on Wednesday unveiled its new range of products at the Auto Expo 2020, which includes a motorcycle, a trike, and an advanced tech-enabled high-speed scooter.
The motorcycle, AE-47, features a 4,000 W motor with a top speed of 85 km per hour. It can zoom from 0 to 60 km per hour in 9 seconds. The model sports a lightweight portable lithium-ion 48v/3.5 kWh battery. With a charging time of four hours, it has a range of 85 km/charge in power mode and 160 km/charge in eco mode.
The electric scooter, AE-29, too, has a range of 80 km/charge and has a top speed of 55 km per hour. This is an Internet of Things-enabled vehicle, which has a 1,000 W motor with a 48 V/3.5 kWh lithium-ion battery.
The trike, AE-3, is aimed at the B2B segment. It sports a self-standing gyroscopic stability feature with an auto-balance park switch. It takes five hours to charge and has a range of 100 km/charge. It is powered by a 250 W motor, which runs on a 48 V/3 kWh lithium-ion battery.
All three models feature digital instrument clusters, mobile charger, walk assist, and reverse facility. The AE-3 has real-time tracking and geofencing facilities, too.
Speaking at the unveiling, Naveen Munjal, managing director, Hero Electric, said, “The company is confident about driving its vision of greener and cleaner future as we further move ahead into a new era of providing sustainable mobility solutions to align with the government’s vision to electrify all vehicles in the country by 2030.”
The company is planning to increase its number of customer touchpoints from 620 to 1,000 by 2020-end. All the models unveiled today will be launched around then and the first part of 2021. The company is looking to increase its annual production capacity to 500,000 units in the next three years with a focus on scooters for last-mile connectivity.
