Chinese carmaker MG Motor India launched the advanced Blackstorm edition of MG Gloster in India on Monday at a starting price of ₹40.30 lakh (ex-showroom price). Touted to be India's first autonomous level-1 Premium SUV (sport utility vehicle), the SUV comes in metal black and metal Ash colour options, with 2WD (two-wheel drive) and 4WD (four-wheel drive) configurations. MG Gloster Blackstorm is powered by the BS-VI 2.0-litre diesel engine, including a first-in-segment twin-turbo diesel engine that delivers 158.5 kW of power.
The company launched MG Gloster in October 2020, with Super, Smart, Sharp and Savvy variants. Blackstorm is the special edition model of the MG Gloster SUV range which has updated features.
The dark theme is enhanced by the roof rail, smoked black taillight, window surround, fender, and fog garnish. Inside the Advanced Gloster BLACKSTORM, the black-themed interior is complemented by red accents on the steering wheel, headlamps, callipers, and front and rear bumper.
The Advanced Gloster BLACKSTORM comes with 30 safety features, including first-in-segment Level -1, Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). Some other features include adaptive cruise control (ACC), automatic emergency braking (AEB), automatic parking assist, forward collision warning (FCW), lane departure warning (LDW), blind spot detection (BSD), door open warning (DOW), rear cross-traffic alert (RCTA), lane change assist (LCA) and driver fatigue reminder system.
Just like the original MG Gloster, Blackstorm also has 6 seater and 7 seater guise with 2WD and 4WD configurations, respectively. The starting price of Blackstorm 6 seater and Blackstorm 7 seater with 2WD configuration is ₹40,29,800. The starting price of Blackstorm 6 seater and Blackstorm 7 seater in 4WD configuration is ₹43,07,800.
According to the company, customers of the Advanced MG Gloster BLACKSTORM can get benefits of the personalised car ownership program "MY MG SHIELD," which offers over 180 after-sales service options. Additionally, customers will benefit from the standard 3+3+3 package, which includes a warranty of three years with unlimited kilometres, three years of roadside assistance, and three labour-free periodic services.
