Quick commerce platforms such as Blinkit, Zepto, Swiggy Instamart, and BigBasket are now offering gold and silver coin deliveries in just 10 minutes, responding to the increased demand during Dhanteras.
Blinkit has introduced the special initiative for Dhanteras. The coins are available in 10g silver and 1g and 0.5g gold options, sourced from reputable brands like Malabar, Joyalukkas, and MMTC. Blinkit’s festive collection includes coins from Malabar Gold & Diamonds and Joyalukkas, featuring Malabar’s 1g 24K Goddess Laxmi gold coin and a 10g Laxmi Ganesh silver coin with 99.9% purity. CEO Albinder Dhindsa described this service as a ‘Dhanteras special’ aimed at enhancing customer experience.
Social media users expressed excitement about the initiative, with comments on platform X praising the collaboration between Blinkit and renowned brands. One user shared an image of a silver coin, stating, “So convenient,” while Swiggy Instamart posted an image of a 0.1g gold coin with the caption, “Delivering different types of gold this Dhanteras.” Zepto creatively promoted its 10-minute gold coin delivery by showcasing gold in a shopping cart image.
Swiggy Instamart has partnered with Malabar Gold & Diamonds, Muthoot Exim, and Jar to provide a range of coins for the festive season. Customers can buy Jar’s 24 karat gold coins in denominations ranging from 0.1g to 1g, along with Malabar’s silver coins, which boast a purity of 999 and come in sizes from 5g to 20g.
Tata-owned BigBasket has teamed up with jewellery brand Tanishq to offer exclusive gold and silver coins for this festive season. The selection includes Tanishq's 10g Lakshmi Ganesh silver coin of 999.9 purity, a 1g 22-karat gold coin, and a 1g gold coin featuring a Lakshmi motif. This partnership enables BigBasket to deliver these coins within 10 minutes across various cities, expanding its offerings beyond groceries.
