De Sequeira says that the chatter around India was always that the short- and medium-term opportunity was elusive and it was really a long-term play. Which is why, under her, Morgan Stanley India’s game plan has been relationship driven. That's evident in her deals, which include repeat engagements with IndusInd Bank, MakeMyTrip, and General Atlantic. From a deal book perspective too, the strategy seems to be working. Over the past few months, she helped raise nearly $1.6 billion across IPOs of Indigo Airlines and Café Coffee Day and equity for IndusInd Bank, among others.
