APARNA PUROHIT'S passion for storytelling has led to some of the most popular shows in Indian OTT space such as The Family Man, Mirzapur, Panchayat, Paatal Lok and Made In Heaven. These have made India one of the fastest-growing markets for Amazon Prime Video. For Purohit, the key has been reading the pulse of the audience. For example, Amazon Prime Video’s most-watched show, action crime thriller Mirzapur, was developed and commissioned by Purohit. She and her team were also instrumental in taking the OTT platform to regional audience with shows such as Haraa, Masti’s and Dhootha. In her eight years at Amazon Prime, Purohit has launched over 56 originals and 60 direct-to-service films in six languages. She has been an advocate of diversity and inclusiveness and pushed for better women representation on camera as well as behind it. Amazon Prime Video has touched the 20 million subscriber mark in India, according to research firm Bernstein. Purohit, however, recently quit Amazon Prime Video to join Aamir Khan Productions as CEO.
