In the middle of the pandemic, Aruna Jayanthi relocated to Toronto as head of Capgemini's Latin American and Canadian units (she was managing Asia Pacific and Latin America before this). Apart from not being able to meet people in person, it was largely business as usual for her. "In every difficult situation, there's an opportunity. I'm an incredibly positive person, so I just looked at what we can do differently, what we can do better," she says. It has been a good year for the French consulting and IT services provider, which saw a 15% jump in revenue to €8.7 billion in the first half of 2021. Revenues from North America rose 3.3% while Asia-Pacific and Latin America saw 16.4% growth. Jayanthi says every year or two years, a few changes in technology shift the way businesses are run. Some of these technologies in the last few years, she says, have been automation, digitisation, 5G, demand sensing and AI.
