From Post-It to Scotch-Brite, products of 3M are present in most offices and homes in India. The company is not stopping at that. Since becoming 3M India’s managing director in June, 2016, Sen’s focus has been on strengthening the company’s position in India. The company’s results reflect that ambition. In FY18, 3M India’s net profit grew 29% to ₹310.54 crore. Under her leadership, 3M India’s U.S. parent is setting up a design centre in India, its fourth such centre globally after Milan, Tokyo, and Minnesota, 3M’s design headquarters. Sen is now eyeing the growth potential from India’s smart cities plan. The company has several offerings such as real-time traffic updates, congestion updates, parking updates, and safety messages that could help the drive towards modernisation of urban spaces.
