The CEO of J . P . Morgan India became the only Indian and the second woman director to be inducted into Philip Morris Tobacco Comany’s global board last year. That’s big. J.P. Morgan India also advised Vedanta Sterlite on its restructuring deal, and the merger between Tech-Mahindra and Satyam. Morparia, who began her career with the ICICI Group in 1975, served as vice chair on its board. She was the joint man - aging director of the group from 2001 to 2007, and also its chief strategy and communications officer. A champion of social causes, she’s a key believer in spreading free rural education through her involvement at the Bharti Foundation.
