The first woman to head an oil and gas public sector undertaking, Vasudeva has been with HPCL for 34 years. Seven years ago, she was the first woman on the board of a Navaratna company. Vasudeva was also on the executive committee of the global oil and gas forum, World Petroleum Council. Under her, HPCL touched an all-time high in domestic sales of 30.2 million tonnes, recording a 4.1% increase over the previous fiscal, the highest among Indian oil marketing companies. HPCL is India’s fourth-largest company by revenue, at Rs 2.3 lakh crore. In FY14, its refineries processed 15.5 million tonnes of crude, achieving 105% capacity utilisation.
