The former Miss World and Padmashree awardee has inarguably pushed the envelope when it comes to expanding boundaries for Indian actresses. Recently, she launched her own personal care brand, Anomaly, in India, along with Nykaa. “Anomaly was born out of the hair care routines I followed growing up, which is deeply rooted in Indian traditions,” says Chopra. On the work front, her latest releases include Citadel and Love Again. The India-born actor also works with UNICEF and international advocacy organisation Global Citizen to focus on climate change, education, children’s rights and female inequality.
While Chopra has slowed down on making movies after a 22-year career in India, she continues as an investor in dating app Bumble, US-based rental marketplace Apartment List, luxury ski-wear brand Perfect Moment and virtual avatar enterprise Genies, among others. She opened her restaurant, Sona, in New York City, in 2021. She has also launched her own dinnerware, table linens, barware, and other accessories under her brand Sona Home. — Pavan Lall
