In a career spanning over three decades, she is best known for being a flag bearer of the idea of bringing ‘insurance in a sachet’ for Indians. Under her leadership, IndiaFirst Life Insurance has shown consistent growth and performance. In FY19, its gross premiums were up 39% year-on-year at ₹3,213 crore, while total new business APE (annual premium equivalent) was ₹961 crore, a five-year CAGR of 44% compared with a 14% CAGR for the industry in the same period. From being in the red in FY14, the insurer has been profitable since FY15. In FY19, it posted 20% growth in net profit at ₹62 crore.
