Her aim is to make India go snap, crackle, and pop. The Rs 650 crore ready-to-eat cereal market in India is growing at 25%, and with a 60% market share, Pendurkar’s top priority is to make sure cereals become part of more Indian homes. "As the Indian consumer becomes more health conscious, there is a huge opportunity waiting to be leveraged,” says Pendurkar who built her marketing capabilities over 25 years, across three sectors—pharmaceuticals, financial services and consumer goods—before taking the top job at Kellogg India. An avid reader and art collector, Pendurkar once aspired to become a doctor like her father, but “didn’t make it and in hindsight am glad to be where I am”.
