Kamath. “We were taught never to be afraid of huge targets and that instilled an immense amount of self-confidence”. As head of the Indian operations of SBM, she's been trying to make the bank more attractive to investments into Africa. The bank, she confesses, does not have much brand presence in India. “I’ve been strengthening the HR systems and infrastructure so that we are able to build a stable deposit base. It’s almost like setting up a mini bank from scratch.”
