40u40 2024 Ananya Birla's Hacks to Unwind

Svatantra Microfin founder and chairperson Ananya Birla, featured in the 2024 edition of Fortune India's 40Under40 list, opens up about how she unwinds herself amid her busy schedule. "I love spending time with my family and friends. I feel really light, we have a good laugh, sports games, my three puppies."

The musician-entrepreneur says currently she and her family are all obsessed with Catan, a multiplayer board game. "So we play Catan and all the extensions..seafarers, it's just so much fun. We put music on and go on a nice long drive with my best friends, just talking about everything and nothing at the same time. So yeah, the time with loved ones," she says.

The elder daughter of Aditya Birla Group chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla, Ananya is also the director of Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd, a part of $75 billion Aditya Birla group.
