In his statement on the first day of the winter session of the Parliament, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today appealed to the political parties to come together to make the session productive. Modi said the session is taking place close on the heels of India taking over the G20 Presidency, which is a huge opportunity for the country to showcase its potential on the global stage.
“We are meeting at a time when India has assumed the G20 Presidency. At a time when the global expectations from the country have been on the rise and the way in which India is enhancing its participation on the global platform, the G20 presidency is a huge opportunity. The G20 summit is not only a diplomatic event. It is an opportunity to showcase India’s holistic strengths in front of the entire world,” PM Modi said.
“On the winter session of the parliament, PM Modi said the focus will be on the steps needed to take India on the path of growth amid the ongoing geo-political situations. “Important decisions will be taken in the current session. I appeal to all the party leaders and floor leaders to grant more time to young parliamentarians. Disruptions of the parliamentary proceedings affect the young parliamentarians across various parties. I appeal for collective efforts to make the winter session more productive,” Modi said.
