‘Howdy, Modi!’ in pictures
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with U.S. President Donald Trump addressed on Sunday a gathering of about 50,000 Indian Americans at the ‘Howdy, Modi!’ event at NRG stadium in Houston, Texas.

Prominent media houses in the U.S. covered the event with interest. The Wall Street Journal said Trump, who is up for re-election in 2020, knows the importance of the support of the Indian-American community.
Modi spoke about his government’s achievements in the past five years and reiterated its commitment to ‘ease of living’ and ‘ease of doing business’.
About the abrogation of Article 370, Modi said it had kept the people of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh away from development and progress. Now, they have “the same rights as every Indian,” he said.
Modi said that the time had come for tough action against terrorism and those who support terrorism. He praised President Trump’s resolve in fighting terrorism. He also invited President Trump and his family to visit India. “Our friendship will give new heights to the vibrant future of India and the United States,” he said.
