Notably, the wholesale in the automobile industry stood at 3,52,000 units as against 3,19,500 retail sales in July.
The total passenger vehicle domestic sales surged 9.4% to 9,95,974 units in Q1 of FY24 as against 9,10,495 units sold in the same period last year.
Maruti Suzuki, the country's largest carmaker, reported a 10.3% year-on-year (YoY) surge in its sales to 1,78,083 units as against 1,61,413 units in the same period last year.
