In a poll on Twitter, Musk had earlier asked users whether he should step down as head of the microblogging platform.
The poll, which will last for 24 hours, has as many as 56% users opting for YES option, whereas 44% users have opted for NO option, as of 11:05 am IST (Indian Standard Time).
The development comes a month after the new Twitter chief executive officer announced that Twitter will form a moderation council.
