The domestic wholesales of two-wheeler manufacturers including electric vehicles grew by 26.2% YoY to 14,95,183 units against 11,84,376 units in the same period last year.

The increase in passenger vehicle sales has been attributed to a smooth transition to BS VI Phase I emission norms from April 1.
This will be approximately 20% above the pre-pandemic peak of 40.5 lakh units, which also will be the highest-ever sales achieved by domestic PV original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).
While passenger vehicle sales declined 5% year-on-year in July, the two-wheeler segment witnessed an 11% drop in sales last month.
