Unemployment rate dips to 7.7% in May on reduced labour participation: CMIE

Among males aged above 15 years, the unemployment rate stood at 9.2% in the March quarter as against 9.6% in the December quarter.
In urban areas, unemployment rate was 8.5% in March 2023, up from 7.9% in Feb 2023, while in rural areas, it stood at 7.4%, up from 7.2% in previous month
The unemployment rate in the urban areas stood at 8.96%, the rural areas saw 7.55% unemployment rate in the month.
