Ratan Tata could not resist the charm of a toy train ferrying visitors at the Auto Expo 2014 in Greater Noida; he had to take a ride. It was an electric vehicle (EV) designed by Aneja at Speedways’ workshop in Jalandhar—he designs EVs that run on lead acid batteries and give about 90 km per charge. The Mahindra Reva uses the more expensive lithium ion. The challenge for Aneja: Traffic rules don’t allow registration of EVs.
