The Chennai pair created Magzter in 2011 as an aggregator of digitised magazines and later books, accessible on any type of device. Today, it has 3,500 titles from over 1,000 publishers globally, reaching out to 18 million users. That it gets 20% of Apple Newsstand traffic globally gives it bragging rights. Magzter works on a revenue-sharing model with publishers, but plans to offer free content underwritten by advertising. The goal: 50 million users by 2015.
