The duo first learnt of a farmer’s problems—identifying the threats of pests, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies early enough—when the aeronautical engineering students were testing drones in the farmlands of Uttar Pradesh’s Barabanki district. That led to them starting their agritech firm in 2015. Their drones use hyperspectral imaging cameras to pick up minuscule colour changes in crops that foreshadow problems. The startup’s subscription service offers farmers advice through the crop season, boosting their yield and cutting production costs. It serves over 2,000 farmers.
