Sequeira credits teamwork for her recent elevation to co-country head of Morgan Stanley India, but her stellar record heading its investment banking division would have played a big role too. Earlier this year, the bank jointly led Justdial’s IPO, which was oversubscribed 11.6 times despite a softening market. Other deals include OIL India and OVL’s acquisi tion of Videocon’s stake in Mozambique’s Rovuma field for $2.5 billion, and Gulf Oil’s acquisition of Houghton International for $1billion. Sequeira has kept her bank’s M&A deal count among the highest in the market. What, apart from teamwork, explains this? “Throughout my career, I have always tried to listen,” she says.
