Investment needed to salvage industry from Chinese imports: Ashwani Mahajan

Calling for an extension of the production linked incentive (PLI) scheme, Ashwani Mahajan, national co – convenor of Swadeshi Jagran Manch  said there is no need for the government to look back on the priorities of the last ten years. During a pre-budget roundtable with Fortune India, Mahjan said capex, Jan Dhan Aadhar Mobile trinity based social transfers will continue in the economy. “The government should continue with the PLI scheme, or, rather, extend it. Rising imports from China have wreaked havoc on the Indian industry. This can be corrected only by pushing for investments,” Mahajan said.
