Union Minister Smriti Irani unveiled the Fortune India-SPJIMR white paper on 'Enhancing Women Leadership in India Inc at MPW event in Mumbai.
The leaders were having a discussion on ‘Women Entrepreneurship Uninhibited,’ at the Fortune India’s Most Powerful Women in Business awards ceremony in Mumbai on March 15.
Only 1.6% of Fortune India 500 companies have women leaders at the helm.

Nita Ambani, Director, Reliance Industries and Chairperson, Reliance Foundation received the first Fortune India’s Most Powerful Women Awards.
"I think the Amrit Kaal ka Budget as the prime minister calls it created a foundation for opportunities in diverse sectors," says Irani.
Companies should create an ecosystem where employee experience becomes key for organisational growth, say experts.
“Today in the country of eight hundred million plus internet users the number of women who use the internet is comparatively low,” says the minister.
Speaking to Fortune India, Irani said that the finance commission tying funds across Panchayats for women related issues is a silent revolution.
