It is Rocket Internet’s swashbuckling bet in India. When fashion portal Jabong launched, everyone—even competition— was dazzled by its aggression. Mohan, who had worked with Rocket in Europe, was accompanied by Manu Jain (a cofounder who left Jabong recently), Sinha, and Mukul Bafana. Rocket’s legendary Oliver Samwer loves Sinha’s execution skills and thinking. For example, rather than add new warehouses, he opted for a mammoth one right at the start. In December, one estimate pegged Jabong’s merchandising value to have breached $20 million that month, when Myntra grossed $15 million in the same period.
